Lude Ricards

Owner/Operator of Sunnyside Veterans Consultant

Health, fitness, advocacy, service, family, justice, business, networking, are some words that best describe me. I am a Caribbean transplant who found herself living in America’s finest city since 2007.  Some of my favorite hobbies involved family fun at the beach, balboa park, zoo, theater, outdoor adventures, and discovering new places in San Diego.

What’s the connection with veterans?

I first became involved with the veteran’s community back in Summer of 2000 (Close Up Program – VA Buffalo, NY). From there I went on to pursue a graduate degree in Physical Therapy (2006), and several prestigious certifications (CES, RYT, etc…). I am the co-founder of Sunnyside PT & Wellness (2010-present) and Sunnyside Veterans Consulting. Sunnyside Veterans Consulting “SVC” is a medical consulting company that assists veterans with their VA disability claims. We help veterans increase their disability rating with the use of “NEXUS LETTERS”.  So, if you are a veteran or know someone who is a veteran, I am super excited to meet and connect with you.

Although San Diego has a large military population, many veterans are in dire need of assistance EVERY DAY.  Among the veterans’ community, we have a homelessness crisis, twenty-three a day crisis (suicide), unemployment crisis, Substance-abuse crisis, and so on…

What’s the solution?

The connection between real estate agents and veterans, and how you can play a significant role, lies in addressing the various challenges veterans face, particularly in the San Diego area. Here’s how real estate agents can help, and how your background and expertise make you uniquely positioned to contribute to this effort:

How Real Estate Agents Can Help Veterans

Housing Stability: Real estate agents can assist veterans in finding stable and affordable housing, which is crucial given the homelessness crisis among veterans. By helping veterans navigate the housing market, you can contribute to their long-term stability and well-being.

VA Home Loans: Many veterans are eligible for VA home loans, which can provide favorable terms for purchasing a home. Real estate agents can guide veterans through the process of obtaining these loans, ensuring they understand their benefits and how to use them effectively.

Community Integration: Real estate agents often have extensive knowledge of local communities and can help veterans find neighborhoods that offer supportive services and community connections, which are essential for transitioning back to civilian life.

Advocacy and Support: By working with veterans and understanding their unique needs, real estate agents can advocate for better housing policies and resources tailored to veterans. They can also connect veterans with other resources and organizations dedicated to their support.
